Oklahoma’s RCI Insurance Group has had the pleasure of being involved with one of our local community programs, Safenet Services. This program helps families find protection against domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault in the Rogers and Mayes Counties. Last year I was asked to join a committee that is organizing one of Safenet’s main fundraisers, the Festival of Trees.
For the past few years, Safenet has been trying to raise money for a new building. They’ve been doing many fundraisers, and RCI has not hesitated to get involved. This last year, I was able to contribute my time helping the committee and not just send a check. A donation is a great step, but many times it’s not enough. Volunteers are a great asset to this non-profit organization.
This year, I’ll be working with the committee for the Festival of Trees fundraiser. Between auctioning off fully decorated Christmas trees, organizing the many silent auction items, and enjoying wonderful food with plenty of wine, we have a great night. And not to mention, the Festival of Trees also includes a children’s night the evening before. The kids get to dress up in their cute new Christmas outfits, visit with Santa, drink cocoa and eat cookies, have their picture taken, and many other fun activities. It’s something I’ve come to look forward to each year.

Safenet Services has been able to help so many families. And they could not have done it without the loyal support of their volunteers and many donations. If you would like to get involved, visit their website at http://www.safenetservices.org . I know they would appreciate any help you would be willing to give.
